Great water is not manufactured; it is discovered, protected, and carefully stewarded.
At Cedar Mountain Natural Mineral Water, our identity is inextricably linked to a historic geological marvel beneath the forests of western Tioga County, Pennsylvania.
Naturally-occurring mineral water is a rarity in the United States. Unlike highly processed municipal waters, Cedar Mountain Natural Mineral Water is drawn from a single, ancient source — bottled exactly as it comes from the earth. The result is a naturally alkaline water that enhances hydration and electrolyte function, completely free of PFAS, PFOA, and other man-made "forever chemicals."
Hasan Fazelbhoy, Founder & Lead Steward
The journey of Cedar Mountain is rooted in Founder Hasan Fazelbhoy's lifelong reverence for water. Growing up in Philadelphia, his understanding of water's value began in childhood.
"I spent countless hours with my grandmother, who taught me ancestral traditions of revering water: drinking from clay jugs to naturally revitalize it and honoring its spiritual and healing properties. These moments instilled in me a lifelong belief that water is more than essential; it is life itself, transcending cultures and time."
Though his travels took him across the globe — showing him firsthand how water quality shapes entire communities — he always felt a deep pull back to the forests and rivers of Pennsylvania. In 2020, he relocated to Tioga County. Just two days before closing on his new home, a serendipitous question to his realtor led him to a dormant water bottling facility nestled deep inside a state forest.
Beneath the failing roof of a little red barn, he found the equipment, and more importantly, the source. Independent testing revealed an extraordinary, historic mineral water profile that surpassed all expectations. Recognizing the rarity of this pristine, high-TDS aquifer, Fazelbhoy committed to restoring the facility with a singular mission: preserving the water's geological integrity.
Working alongside world-renowned water experts, Fazelbhoy implemented modern, sustainable harvesting techniques. The company operates on a philosophy of minimal intervention and deep local integration.
"At our mineral water company, every bottle tells a story of care and intention. We craft in small batches so that nothing is rushed, and every pour reflects the purity of our ancient source."
To bring this vision to life, Cedar Mountain partnered almost exclusively with local Pennsylvania businesses — from Campbell Trucking in Galeton to regional label manufacturers in Williamsport, utilizing glass containers made less than 50 miles away.
The Source — Tioga County, Pennsylvania
Despite its quiet origins, Cedar Mountain Natural Mineral Water has quickly captured the attention of the global water community. The water has earned multiple medals at the prestigious Berkeley Springs International Water Tasting — the longest-running and most respected water tasting competition in the world.
The culinary world has also taken notice. Following a mention in the Washington Post, which noted that the sparkling mineral water "hits your mouth like the ring of a harmonica," Cedar Mountain expanded its offerings for a limited edition "Tyoga" — a sparkling mineral water. A collaboration with Wellsboro House owner Chris Kozuhowski led to the creation of Cedar Mountain's signature sparkling version, perfectly balancing the water's rich mineral density with fine effervescence.
Today, Cedar Mountain Natural Mineral Water stands as a proud representative of small-town American craftsmanship, bringing an internationally-recognized, terroir-driven mineral water to discerning palates everywhere.
